Peter Nielsen CFA, MBA
Senior Investment Analyst — Energy, Healthcare, Financials

Originally from British Columbia, Mr. Nielsen graduated from Trinity Western University with a degree in Business Administration and earned an MBA from Simon Fraser University. A Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder, Mr. Nielsen worked for BC Investment Management Corporation and Aquilini Investments before coming to Bellingham. He is also portfolio manager for the Sextant Core Fund (SCORX).

John Scott CFA
Investment Analyst — Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples, Technology

John Scott, Investment Analyst, joined Saturna Capital in December 2009. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Orange County, California and Hyundai Securities in Seoul, S. Korea. Mr. Scott earned a BA in Business with emphasis in Finance from University of Washington and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. He enjoys snowboarding and has spent extensive amount of time traveling overseas.

Ben Bortner
Investment Analyst — Industrials, Basic Materials, Transportation

Ben Bortner, Investment Analyst, joined Saturna Capital in November 2009. He graduated magna cum laude from Western Washington University in 2010, earning BA degrees in Finance and Accounting. His hobbies include golf, snowboarding, traveling, and fishing.

Jane Carten MBA
President, Director & Technology Analyst

Mrs. Carten oversees Saturna’s daily operations and directs Saturna’s internal and external information systems, managing the technology and marketing activities. She also directs our continuing education program. She earned an MBA with dual majors in Computer Science and Business from Western Washington University.

Chris Lang
Manager of Fund Administration and Process Integration & Retail Analyst

Mr. Lang graduated from Western Washington University in 2004 with a BA in Business Administration/Finance. Before joining Saturna, he worked in logistics.
